Do You Need ADAS Calibration After Windshield Replacement?
Some newer vehicles use forward-facing cameras mounted to or viewing through the windshield. Replacing the glass can require a manufacturer-specified calibration procedure so those systems operate from the correct reference position.
What ADAS systems may use the windshield camera?

- Adaptive high-beam or related camera functions on some vehicles
Why calibration can be required
A camera can be physically attached to the windshield or positioned to view through a specific optical area. Removing and replacing the glass can change the camera's reference relationship to the road, which is why vehicle manufacturers may specify recalibration.
Static vs dynamic calibration
Some vehicles use targets and controlled shop conditions, some use a driving procedure, and others may require a combination. The required method depends on the vehicle manufacturer and system.
What to tell your glass provider
Provide the VIN and mention any camera or sensor visible near the rear-view mirror. The correct windshield must match the vehicle's equipment, and calibration requirements should be confirmed for that specific vehicle rather than assumed.
