Forward-facing cameras may support features such as lane departure warnings, lane centering, automatic emergency braking and traffic-sign recognition. The mounting position and optical characteristics of the windshield can be important to those systems.
When requesting service, provide the VIN and tell us if a camera or sensor is visible near the rear-view mirror. This helps identify the correct windshield configuration.
Calibration may be required
Some vehicles require static calibration, dynamic calibration or another manufacturer-specified procedure after windshield replacement. Requirements vary by vehicle. Calibration availability and the appropriate process are confirmed case by case rather than assumed.
